SESSIONS:
Music program offered twice annually. Private lessons available weekly.

Bella Musica
Bella Musica consists of collaborative group classes in which students explore music fundamentals including basic rhythm, pitch, types of sound, and instrument exploration. Here, children experience music through movement, song, and dance, developing teamwork and investment as they work together in cultivating a love for the musical arts! Music classes culminate in preparation and performance of our twice-annual music production, where children work to integrate culture, theater, and design into our child-led, innovative musical events!

Private Lessons
Our one-on-one, private lessons are offered weekly (during school hours) to primary children. You do not need an instrument at home in order to enroll your child. Lessons are pre-reading based, and educate children in basic music theory and skill including notes in an octave, rhythmic note values, and coordination of the eye and hand as children learn to read, follow, and play music! Lessons also integrate creativity and individual interest as children are given the opportunity to take ownership of their learning in our open-ended, exploratory approach!

Music has been a passion of Angie’s for as long as she can remember, but that fire was fanned to flame in her high school years.  In fact, during her senior year of high school, she was in four choral groups, one of which she spearheaded and directed during lunch. Her love of music also led her to her other love- the stage. After graduating from Hemet High, she attended Brigham Young University, studying Musical Dance Theater with plans to teach. According to Angie, it was there that she really got inspired by some incredible directors—Rosalind Hall, Ronald Stahlei, and Mack Wilberg who now directs the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She says, “I basically stole my choral directing abilities from the amazing directors I have worked with over the years—just watching them work their magic and using those same techniques to enhance my own directing.”

Angie has enjoyed teaching choirs of all ages for over 26 years. Between her most prized productions, her six children, she has had opportunities to direct choirs at church, a charter school, Hemet High School, and the Temecula Conservatory of Music.  Over the years, she has enjoyed performing in various productions at the Ramona Bowl and Mt. San Jacinto College.  Some of her favorite roles include Sarah Brown in “Guys and Dolls,” Luisa in “The Fantasticks,” and Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn in “The Music Man.” Anderson has written and directed shows for schools and church alike, working with singers of varying skill levels. One co-worker says of her, “Angie could teach a rock to sing.” On another occasion a parent remarked, “Mrs. Anderson took our program back to the glory days.” She is known for her high expectations and attention to detail. Mama Anderson, as some students call her, believes in encouragement and positive reinforcement. She measures success in smiles and prides herself on concerts that are as enjoyable for those performing as for those in the audience. Whether teaching private voice or piano, theatre, or choir, Angie brings music to the hearts of everyone she touches.
